Okay, so last night I was just on my computer browsing Reddit and Youtube and whatnot, when my cat jumps into my lap. Already this sounds bad.
I was all like, "Aww, come here buddy" since I don't get to pet him as often as I usually do with my new jealous dog around. So he sits in my lap, and then he does the usual "climb onto the top of my desk and block all view of my screen so I'll look at only him" thing. WELL, his tail (which regularly knocks things over...I wonder if he can even control that thing) knocked over the full glass of fanta I have on my desk right into the INSIDE of my computer, all over the processor, ram, cords, etc. See, the case of my computer, on the top, it might as well be open because there's lots of holes there, probably about 85% of the top, whereas it's solid metal over the disc drive, for obvious reasons.
So I immediately panic. The computer had shut off instantly when this crime against me was committed. After a few minutes of standing there in utter SHOCK and ANGER, I run into the kitchen full-speed to grab the paper towels. I open up my computer, wipe off the insides and decide to let it lie on its side to dry whatever's left over night.
And now... Today is the morning (and I just had the shit scared out of me, apparently my computer's time reset and thinks it's 1:06AM... thought I was going crazy for a second there) and obviously since I'm here typing this, it's all okay.
*takes a deep breath*
I thought for sure my cat had broken my computer. That it got all over the motherboard and every nook and cranny and I wouldn't be able to turn it on and lose all my stuff. At the very least I thought he had at least wiped my computer clean of any files somehow and I'd have to just restart.
But everything's here, guys. It's all here. And I feel like crying from the happiness. My computer was so expensive, given as a gift to me, and I'm so damn poor that I wouldn't have been able to buy another or even fix this one. My computer means so much to me. I do everything on here; my art, my learning, my entertainment... I don't even have a gaming console right now because my shitty old ps3 broke. If I had lost my computer... I would have lost everything.
